Re: Cricket
I think England have performed very well and deserve every shred of credit for their results. The played well and thrashed the team they were up against. That's all any team can do and having seen England teams snatch defeat from the jaws of victory so many times over the years, it was great to see a thoroughly professional outfit who took total control, kept it and never let India back in the series.
There's no doubt in my mind that India looked a bit jaded at times - a bit too much cricket possibly - but we mustn't overlook the part that the England team played in making them look lacklustre. During the first test England wobbled seriously and only the tail end got us out of real trouble. The Indians didn't look too shabby then did they.
Whatever England achieved and no matter wild/exaggerrated claims the media may make about who's best etc., I don't think Strauss and Co. are going to let any of that go to their heads. They realise how tough it's going to be to hold onto top spot but won't give it up easily.

Re: Cricket
Indians seem to take everything to the extremes, they're either the best side ever and have the best players ever or the worst team in the history of the game. Talk about an overreaction.

Re: Cricket
How poor was the Indian bowling (lack of) attack yesterday. Even I'd have been disappointed to to get into double figures if I was facing them.

Yes so much for them being OD champions and the number one test side in the world before they came here.

Re: Cricket
Following the tests everyone was saying the one dayers would be different because of the IPL, but looking at them yesterday I don't think they want to be here anymore.

From what I've seen they never wanted to be here. They've looked very jaded throughout and that's not surprising given the amount of cricket they're playing these days. As always however, money's at the root of it and he who pays the piper calls the tune...

Re: Cricket
India dont travel well, i think during the tests sky were saying that when they got to number 1, 4 of the 6 test series they won were at home. They drew against SA away, but beat the so called lesser world cricket teams.
Not taking anything away from them but apart from a couple of sessions they were awful all summer. England are pretty poor at one day cricket and we have still beat them.
Its clear they are jaded and just want to go home, but IMO they didnt ever have the desire to play.

Re: Cricket
Well India have finally drawn a match after a series of defeats due to the bad weather forcing a tie.

And bopara not understanding what he needed to do on that last ball. i.e blocking the ball would have meant winning the game (no I'm not blaming him - D/L is hard wnough for us to understand from our sofas!)
