No he means which type of Virgin Media broadband do you have, Cable (DSL) or phone line (ADSL). It makes a big difference to the type of router that would work.

Also what speed broadband do you have? What type of wireless cards are built into your computer / laptop / games console, or whatever you are trying to connect - "g", "n" ?

I have just bought a Linksys WRT54GL for my Virgin Cable broadband - I think someone here recommended it - and it is brilliant. Excellent coverage throughout the house, and it was a doddle to set up.

I have no prior knowledge of networking and I just followed the instructions on the cd.
