problem with wireless network

Dear friends,
i've just setted up my wireless network but i have problems.
I have a virgin adsl contract, and i'm using netgear adsl modem dm111p, and netgear wgt624 router.
i've installed modem and router as asked by netgear, using the proper software and wizard.
Now everything seems ok: my laptop see the network, even if the signal is not very good outside the room where the router is placed, but this is maybe because the very thick walls i have in my flat.
The main problem is that the internet connection sometimes is not working, or if it's working lasts just few minuts than finish, although the laptop still see the network.
Every time i restart the router, but is impossible to do it every 5 minutes!!!! And sometimes even restarting the router internet does not work.
One thing i've noticed is that in the router the wireless led is always intermitted and not fixed on the 'on' way.
Could be this the problem?
somebody could help me please?? I'm quite desperate....
