Virgin mobile pulled a fast one

Hi guys my first post, I hope someone with knowledge on the workings of VirginMobile will be able to help.
I took up an offer to upgrade my Virgin Mobile telephone via their call centre, which included a free Blackberry 9700, with 600 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited web access, and the Blackberry data service.
I was told that the old contract would be closed, with a new mobile number being provided. (I did not ask why)
I recently discovered that the old number is still active, I have been levied charges, and that the contract stated 400 rather than the 600 minutes quoted.
Virgin Mobile have stated via their call centre that the sales person was wrong to state a new number was needed, however I would need to contact the cancellation department.
I did this however despite speaking to customer services I have got no further; they won't budge on the minutes, promises to close the old number, to credit me for all charges have been broken.
I sent an email to their customer services, and was hopeful when I received an acknowledgment, stating I would get an outcome within 5 days.
Well it will come as no surprise that Virgin have not contacted me, I am calling customer services daily however the operators simply don’t know how to proceed.
Any advice please on who I can contact, and how I might resolve this issue.

Andy
