Similar groups often converge near each other. That's pretty much human nature. If you were an expat somewhere else in the world, especially somewhere which is culturally different, then you're more likely to want to live near other British people.
I think in this case it's largely historical. Generations of families who lived in the same area coupled with Jewish immigrants moving to places where they had existing friends or family in the late 1800s and up to the 1930s. It would also be easier to practice their faith if they lived near each other and near religious facilities/shops. I also imagine that the history of persecution they've faced made them more likely to group together and more alienated from the rest of society.

The only way they and other similar groups, could remain that "racially pure" is by being racist. Only marrying and dealing with there "own kind" and insisting that anyone from outside that marries into their group, has to convert. Imagine if C of E/Protestants did that?
Many years ago there was a TV series that had Deaf clubs from different town/cities, eg Newcastle, Liverpool etc, then along comes a Jewish Deaf club? Why?
