Downing got more goals and assists than Modric last year and those fees have a lot of add ons included, I think they are doing the right thing buying British based, they are proven and that's why theres a premium, Liverpool can't afford to give anyone a season to bed in like they did with Alonso they need to hit the ground running and I for one think they will.
