Can you confirm that the router is connected to the CM, and the PC to the router...

The config you are getting implies that the main PC is connected to the CM, not the router..
(the 81.x.y.z address would the the IP assigned by NTL)

it should be :

CM ---(cat5)--> router WAN port

router LAN port <----cat 5 ---- PC (s)
