Reading up on this blindness, his eyesight is 10/200 and 20/200 for the two eyes, so very poor eyesight allround. He's just very good at aiming at a poorly defined yellow blob. I suppose it makes sense. If the yellow blob is consistently poorly defined it doesn't make much of a difference in terms of aiming at it. It just makes it difficult to determine where the arrow has landed, and that's where his team mates help out.
