Will always be "The Saint" to my generation but I also enjoyed him in The Persuaders and James Bond.

RIP Sir Roger

He was my first TV crush. Used to hurry home from school to see him on Ivanhoe. Had his pictures all over the bedroom wall. 50 odd years later I can still remember the Ivanhoe theme tune.

Seemed to me to always act (professionally) and behave like the perfect English gentleman.

He featured in a fairly recent episode of Car SOS where he signed a seat back in a Volvo P1800 secretly restored for a classic car enthusiast who'd suffered a stroke.

Suave until the end. RIP Simon Templar.

Very suave as the Saint. Very much a tongue-in-cheek as Bond though entertaining. RIP

Sir Roger was hilarious in Brian Pern, a Life in Rock. Probably one of the last things he did and it really showcased exactly what a great sense of humour he had.

RIP 007

Thanks Kursk. Brought back memories. Showed it to my grandson and his reply was "Granny did you watch black and white TV?".

Your link also had my other favourites from the 60s, so thanks. I've saved it.

You're welcome :). The world was black and white in those days and a lot more innocent than 50 shades of grey.
