i have a wireless network that covers 2km ,distant client have very unstable connection with reply time that vary greatly(3ms-2000 ms) nevertheless the signal is very good and afiend of mine having the same hardware doest have this problem,could it be the omni or may be the channel (some kind of interference) there is no one else using this channel(7),is it possible that american troops are transmittingusing this channel.

Depends on the "wireless" equipment involved. We have a microwave link at work between 2 sites that are about 2km apart.

A dedicated long range access point will support these distances: Cisco Aironet 1300s are good for about 30KM.

Sounds like the OP's signal is being de-sensed at the fringes, possibly by a nearby wireless transmission or there's some kind of crosstalk or harmonic image from another signal source interfering with the data stream.

... Running netstumbler on one of the distant clients may help to pinpoint the source of potential interference providing it's not satcom / radar / microwave oven ;) related.

2KW at 2GHZ???? are you using a cannibalised surveillance radar or something?

Running that much power you would de-sense your own receiver!
