l do not think this will come as any surprise to people who follow the Media industry as Sky.s advertising budget spend is more then ITV spend on content so that shows you what a behemoth that are even at this present time.

Really?

Lack of detail and figures in that article - the BBC will spend 80% of it's £3.4 billion licence fee on content (approx £2.75 billion per year); is Sky going to spend that much?

BSKYB spends 2 Billion a year on content

Sky will spend £2bn across all its channels during 2011, although £1.6bn of that is money going on sports rights and on American programming for entertainment channels including Sky Atlantic and Sky1

The headline writer appears to have overlooked two crucial words in their article

Quote:

predicted that within two years the paybox would be spending more per hour on British TV drama than any of its rivals.

My fault for copy and pasting the headline :D I'm pleased Hugh that they are electing to up their spend on increased amounts of content from the UK , too many channels now show prodigious amounts of US content.
