This is an old article from 2011, but no less interesting. IIRC the unit was demonstrated with a freeview box and a 405 line converter to show live TV pictures, and the kit was included in the sale.
What's more amazing is that up until the time the old VHF Black and White 405 line transmitters were turned off in the early 1980s that TV would have shown a picture with nothing more than an aerial and the right tuning coils. |
I just discovered it sold at auction for $27,000+
MZTV in Toronto was the buyer. Wow 27k!! |

I found the case for a Marconi version of this. The mirror was still intact. It made a nice little cupboard.
