What kind of TV is that??? It does not look like a CRT!

The photo doesn't show the whole set as it's about 4" tall and the CRT is vertically mounted. Quite amazing that the tube is still holding a vacuum and working.

Its amazing looking...... Though wouldnt you see everything BACKWARDS due to the mirror??

You just scan the tube backwards, then the mirror makes it right.:)

This is an old article from 2011, but no less interesting. IIRC the unit was demonstrated with a freeview box and a 405 line converter to show live TV pictures, and the kit was included in the sale.

What's more amazing is that up until the time the old VHF Black and White 405 line transmitters were turned off in the early 1980s that TV would have shown a picture with nothing more than an aerial and the right tuning coils.

I found the case for a Marconi version of this. The mirror was still intact. It made a nice little cupboard.
