Sky are crooks..

Had an 1/2 price for 12 months offer. They put the price up 2 months ago and only just told me about it. So I got on to live chat and gave notice because it's up in July anyway.

Was told that, because I am giving early notice to leave. They will still happily charge me but if anything technical goes wrong they WON'T fix it.Luckily we only have TV.

That's got to be a whole new level of douchbaggery?

They have also made the end date after the full bill so I have to pay them over £100 and then when it cuts off 3 days later I have to then get it back. WHY don't they work on the actual bill date when it's produce? :(

How did they tell you? If via email you can cancel within 30 days without penalty.

By letter last week, No they do not allow any cancellation period that's in their terms,

It's funny, everytime I now log in to check things are going okay they offer me 50% off (and a fixed price) if I stay with them for another 12 months.. And yet it's because they put up my 50% off at a fixed price contract that I am leaving it!

BT on the other hand... " the price is going up, give us 14 days if you migrate or 30 days if you want to leave without penalty" which is as you said it is and how it should be for all .

That is the way it is. Use the date on the letter as that is how you were informed.

Well Sky won't let me cancel early they say they can raise the prices. It's in their terms too.

Believe me I've tried.

This is what it says in their terms...

During the minimum term of your contract, we also commit to not increasing the standard price of your Sky TV package price more than once in any 12 month period, or increasing the standard price of your Sky TV package price by more than 10%.

it sucks..
