Commonwealth Games opening ceremony will bring the house down
 

Glasgow's games organisers have decided to save a fortune on fireworks by incorporating the demolition of five blocks of flats into the opening ceremony.

The iconic Red Road tower blocks will be brought down by more than a tonne of high explosive.

One tower will be left standing as it is needed for housing asylum seekers.

Yes, having said that it was a great idea, the SNP now says they're glad it has been cancelled. Good old Eck, always having his cake and eating it.

Probably just as well they cancelled it as the eventual blowdown went a bit wrong.

Oops. Should've just told the locals there were lead pipes throughout the building and let them get on with it. They'd be gone in no time.
