VM try to block BB compensation scheme.

VM (amongst others) are trying to block a mandatory broadband compensation scheme:

Good. It's a poorly thought out scheme with the potential for a bunch of unforseen consequences.

Personally I would rather operators spend money on networks rather than compensating people who pay not much each month a load of money, in a matter of days far more than most actually pay, for outages. Your mileage may vary.

Misleading thread title as usual.
Quote:

BT, Virgin Media and Sky have shunned Ofcom plans for a mandatory compensation scheme and instead proposed their own, which would be voluntary.
...
The voluntary minimum payment proposed by the providers is as much as £10 less for a missed appointment than the minimum proposed by Ofcom, according to an analysis by Citizens Advice.
