Rugby virgin
ok,
as the title says, that is what I am. I am taking the girlfriend to see Scotland v Italy on 24/2 I am just wondering...... How long will the match last for, so that I can book return train tickets ik |
Re: Rugby virgin
The actual match is 40 mins per half with IIRC 15 mins at half time, leave yourself plenty of time to get out of the stadium and to get to the station, should be a great game, enjoy it :tu:
EDIT: apparently it's a maximum of 10 mins half time, taken from here http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby |
Re: Rugby virgin

And NO, I am not a virgin, but I am a rugby virgin, never been to see it ever, only played it in school a long time ago. ik |

I played for the school, once - out of position, as it happened, mainly because I always travelled as 'our' touch judge, when we played away ;) I was good at 'sevens' , though:cool: |
Re: Rugby virgin
The blokes in skirts will be Scotland, in case you weren't sure. HTH :)

Having been to a few big events at Wembley, I'd recommend booking the train for at least an hour after you leave. Preferably 2. That way, if you don't get out quickly, you don't have to hurry and even if you do get out quickly, you can still go for a drink or something. |
Re: Rugby virgin
well the station (haymarket) is a 10 min walk from Murrayfield, and going by getting out from a Celtic match, it should take about 20 mins max to get out the stadium, and another 15-20 min walk to the station.
need to get an early train, cause coming back to Glasgow might have food and a drink in Glasgow. ik |
Re: Rugby virgin
I was thinking more of the time required to leave the stadium. Wembley Park tube station is a ten minute walk from Wembley, yet it can still take upward of 40 minutes to get there after a major event.

Re: Rugby virgin
It would probably be better thinking that a half will last around 50 minutes due to stoppages and also the ref can't end the half until the ball to goes dead.

Re: Rugby virgin
You could just buy a Cheap Day Return when you get to Queen St. Just make sure you're at the station by 12pm at the latest because it'll be busy.
