Something screwed up with my SKY package

Recently agreed a new deal with SKY. The usual 50% off TV, free broadband but no new 12 month contract.

I've noticed a few things that I can't make sense off. Firstly I don't appear to be affected by the latest price increase. I've had no e-mail or letter from them and My SKY shows my bills for April, May and June at my current price. Secondly I've tried to add SKY Movies for 1/2 price but if I do this I lose my 50% off deal and the monthly cost goes up to about £90.00. Thirdly I bought a YouView box at Christmas which I now use in the bedroom. I cancelled the extra SKY HD box from my package nearly 3 months ago and haven't been billed for it. Thing is it still works! All the channels.

I don't want to call SKY to discuss the issue with adding SKY Movies incase my free SKY HD box gets rumbled.

Are SKY known for this kind of muck up?

It will catch up with you at some point,

Step dad had multiroom and sky did not charge for almost 3 years, he didnt know that they were not charging as their bill was high with all the full package etc..
when they finally caught it they wanted full payment straight away for the entire period dont know how much it was but can guess it was alot.
On the other hand if you had cancelled the multiroom and have an email/letter from them for that then i'd say its their fault and keep using it, dont say anything if you call about the movies or just simply get a now tv box with movies package, their always going cheap somewhere, cheaper than the £17 a month sky are wanting, i use it for movies and get the vouchers from amazon £29 for a 4 month pass :)

I'd advise you to check this with Citizen's advice, but I am fairly certain that if you don't pay enough, and can prove that you acted in good faith, then Sky (or any provider) can't just ask you to pay the difference in one lump sum. The most they can do is ask you to pay it in instalments.

Virgin Media tend to waive any arrears and start charging when their mistake is discovered in cases like this.

IIRC they found a fair few discrepancies when changing IT systems.

Sky are upping the price of my 50% fixed price package so I am dumping them in July.
