1 Socket Extension Lead

Hi,

Anybody know where I can buy a single socket extension lead (about 3m) with a power switch on the socket?

I've found plenty of single socket leads but none with a switch.

I've scoured, Amazon, eBay, Homebase, Maplins, Argos, B&Q, Farnell, Screwfix so far - none of then have the elusive power switch on the socket!

Any ideas?

Cheers!

A twin socket would also do - don't really want anything more than that.

Found one of those in Homebase / PC World already.

Very elusive...beginning to think they don't actually make 'em!

Probably not, you can plug it into a socket with a switch, and also the appliance at the other end should have a switch, so there isnt going to be much demand for a single socket lead with one (which would just cost more).

Re: 1 Socket Extension Lead

This is my issue - I have a double socket behind a CD rack (Billy - you know the type!)..

At the moment I have one 4way surge socket with a switch. From there I have 1 x 6 socket and 1 x 4 socket which is plugged into the 6way. Yes yes....I know. :-)

In the 4 way there are two battery chargers and a DECT phone so nothing that would draw much power.

In the 6 way I have my PC, two monitors, a small mixer and a sub-woofer.

I want to separate these out using both sockets that are behind the bookcase - but with the ability to switch them off from there.

Why not use remote rf plugs to control power on the devices?http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/remote-con...s-5-pack-n38hn

You can set multiple plugs to be grouped under a single key.

Could you use remote controlled sockets to turn the power on and off at the wall outlet? They're not expensive these days and really useful when access to a wall socket is restricted.

It would push the bookcase out into the room and won't align with the one next to it.

I meant on the extension lead sockets rather than the wall sockets.

Fair - can only find 4-way sockets though at the moment.

That's easy http://www.electrosupplies.co.uk/Ele...duct_info.html

;)

Or did you mean for the RF plugs?

For multiple RF plugs looks like Lightwaverf support more than four switch groups on the remote http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/lightwaver...ts-white-n53ll
