No its never been free.

Its a standalone premium channel that happens to be included with TV XL or Full House as its now called.

Sky customers pay 21.99?! Plus with sky sports being 27 odd quid to watch all football it's almost 50 quid?! I think we may be screwed when the BT contract expires...

Personally I would prefer not to have BT sport within top tier TV package. I would like to be allowed to choose which Company provides the content I want to watch and pay for accordingly.

But will Discovery ask Virgin Media to drop - TLC+1, I.D.+1, Quest +1, DMAX +1, Discovery Channel +1, Animal Planet +1, Discovery Science +1, Discovery History +1 or Home & Health +1 - for Quest Red to launch?

We are set to miss Quest Red +1 from launch.

We also feel that Quest +1 will move to Freeview HD so that it old slot on Freeview and also it channel number 38 can be use for Quest Red*.

*Discovery has confirm no channels will be drop on Freeview.

Come on Dave - the eventual price rise will be no-where near what we would have to pay for BT Sports separately. I know like me you like ESPN and I'm a big rugby fan as well. I already overpay VM and don't want to give them even more.

Well according to some who jumped the gun last year ;) we were given the impression that it was coming soon anyway but alas that frenzied speculation proved not to be true..;)

It could have been delayed by VM while the LG policy on all this was being sorted out. I think VM may well be ready to go when given the green light.

I agree. It's on Tivo in the US and there were reports it was being tested here. It makes sense for LGI to do a global deal rather than a country-by-country one. That being said, they need to move soon or people will be tempted to watch an increasing amount of content directly on their smart TVs.
