snapshot of current day will move until midnight and then stop, or you can do a snapshot of a previous day.

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
Updating is fine, at least you can see when I go Pete tong.
Chrysalis - My packet loss was 88% before I disabled the infamous flooding and firewall. Might turn the firewall back on but sitting behind one anyways. |

You didn't really have 88% packet loss with IP flood switched on it just skewed the pingtest results as it deliberately floods you with packets to assess the connection. |
Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
Ahh. soo is it all a myth? Blame it on the ping test?
I don`t play online gaming anymore (unreal tournament) soo can`t really tell you of real life online losses. I`m 37 now and have to be responsible lol |
Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
The way a lot of peoples average pings instantly increase around the same time that throttling comes into effect makes me think DPI is one of the reasons VM's network has such pants latency/jitter.
|
Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
its entirely possible DPI affects latency Proper DPI inspects all traffic deeply, that is going to consume tons of processing power. For it to have no negative affect on performance would be almost impossible, however from an isp point of view they would hope (a) its only in single digit ms and the gains from congestion reduction outweigh it.

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
Sinth, can you post your modem config pages? Your upload speed test looks a bit suspect (not suspect as in fake, but suspect as in something funny going on with the network).
I say that as ~2mbps upload should not ever be occcuring on the 50mb package - the only two upload speeds available should be either 1.75 or 5mbps. Either you're on 1.75mbps and the speedtest is wrong, or you're on 5mbps and only getting 1.9mbps, which means VM have a fault limiting cutting 60% off your upload speed (which, if affecting everyone else as well, explains the extremely low congestion on your TBB graph). |

Nope, you have the uplifted config. Mine to compare (my power levels are probably a tad better than yours ;) but yours I dont think are out of the ordinary)

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
Indeed, Sinth is on 5mb upload already but failing to get anywhere near that actual speed. I wonder if the upload slot size problem is still ongoing, as it's certainly not congestion.
Mind you, as I mentioned earlier, the fact that everyone's stuck at less than 40% of their design speed could explain the extreme lack of congestion. |
Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
Been seeing some weird peaks even on my preferred setup, always between noon and 4pm. Wonder what's causing it?

I've re-enabled them and I must say, the results still look poor. I suppose you might even say, qualitively worse than with the 5.5.2R20 firmware it shipped with. Can't say I'm surprised, though. http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/m...17-03-2011.png |
Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)
Im runnign 2 50Mb connections, one with the VMNG300 on a Dlink 655 and one with the Superhub, heres the comparison of both modems on the same UBR and the same line card...
